Who we are
Vimal.ie is operated by Vimal Kallyat Panoli in Ireland, who is the data controller for personal information collected through this website. For any privacy question or request, email hello@vimal.ie.
- 02
Information we collect
When you send an enquiry we receive the details you enter: your name, email address, optional organisation and your message, together with your confirmation that we may respond. To protect the form from abuse we also record your IP address and browser type with the enquiry. When you browse the site, our hosting provider automatically processes standard technical data, such as your IP address, the pages requested and the time, to deliver the website and keep it secure.
- 03
How we use it and why
We use enquiry details only to reply to you, to discuss and assess potential work and to keep a record of that conversation. Our lawful bases are taking steps at your request before entering into a contract and our legitimate interest in responding to business enquiries (Article 6(1)(b) and (f) of the GDPR and UK GDPR). Technical data is used only to run the website and protect it from attacks and spam. We do not sell personal information, use it for advertising or make automated decisions about you.
- 04
Spam protection
The contact form uses an invisible security check that runs in your browser without cookies or third-party services. To limit abuse, a one-way hashed form of your IP address and the time of each submission are stored on our server and deleted automatically within two days. Each completed security check is remembered briefly after it expires so that it cannot be reused.
- 05
Who receives it
Your information is processed on our behalf by Hostinger, which hosts this website and our mailbox. The website is served from the United Kingdom, which the European Union recognises as providing an adequate level of data protection. We do not share your information with anyone else unless the law requires it.
- 06
How long we keep it
Enquiries are kept only for as long as needed to respond and to manage any resulting conversation or business relationship, and are then deleted. Abuse-prevention records are deleted automatically within two days. If an enquiry cannot be emailed for technical reasons, a copy is held securely on our server until we have dealt with it. Hosting logs are kept by Hostinger for a limited period for security purposes.
- 07
Your rights
Under the GDPR and UK GDPR you can ask to access, correct or delete your personal information, to restrict or object to its use, and to receive it in a portable format. Email hello@vimal.ie and we will respond within one month. You can also complain to the Data Protection Commission in Ireland (dataprotection.ie) or, in the United Kingdom, to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
